UCSD Sorority and Fraternity Life Awards

Outstanding Philanthropy Program Award

This award was given to a chapter from each council with the most money raised for a philanthropic cause. Eta Gamma's chapter philanthropy being Border Angels, an organization "promotes a culture of love through advocacy, education, by creating a social consciousness, and engaging in direct action to defend the rights of migrants and refugees."

 

Outstanding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Program Award

UC San Diego Sorority and Fraternity Life awarded Eta Gamma for contributing to equity, diversity, and inclusivity within the UC San Diego campus. Eta Gamma continuously advocated for the needs of students that may be underrepresented in higher education.​

Council Impact of the Year Award 

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Kyla Leilani Ortege (SP22, Line 4, #2) who has gone over and beyond the call of duty as it relates to academics, service, involvement and overall participation. This sister represents everything the SFL Community stands for; every action, thought and deed were towards the betterment of the community and the advancement of our organization.

Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award 

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Victoria Sanchez (SP21, Line 2, #2). This award was given to individuals in their final year at UCSD who have excelled scholastically. This sister has gone above and beyond what is generally required of the Sorority and Fraternity Life Community.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. California Area 4 Awards

Chapter of the Year
This award was given to Eta Gamma for our outstanding performance as a chapter in the area. We continually strive for excellence through programming, academics, and involvement on and off the UCSD campus.


Undergraduate Member of the Year
This award was given to Eta Gamma's sister Leilani Ortega (SP22, Line 4, #2) for all the hardwork she put into being MGC Council President, Chapter Recruitment and Retention Advisor, and so much more. This sister has gone above and beyond in being a leader and sister.

This award was given to the chapter that embodies the values of its council (Multicultural Greek Council). Eta Gamma continually strives for excellence through programming, academics, and involvement.

 

Outstanding Chapter Program Award

This award was given to a chapter from each council with the most innovative and effective program (in-person or virtual) from one of the following catergories: Member Development, Health and Wellness, and/or Academic.

 

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award

UC San Diego Sorority and Fraternity Life awarded Eta Gamma for contributing to equity, diversity, and inclusivity within the UC San Diego campus. Eta Gamma continuously advocated for the needs of students that may be underrepresented in higher education.​

Outstanding Council Leader Award

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Aurora Solano (SP22, Line 4, #1) who balanced chapter management, internal and external relations, member satisfaction, and contributed to the Sorority and Fraternity Life during the 2022-2023 school year.

Outstanding Chapter Leader Award

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Kyla Leilani Ortega (SP22, Line 4, #2) who implemented positive change with her position, created or improved an event or initiative, and strangely upheld chapter values.

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Sharai Barrera (SP20, Line 1, #7). This award was given to individuals in their final year at UCSD who have excelled scholastically. This sister has gone above and beyond what is generally required of the Sorority and Fraternity Life Community.

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Emely Tellez (SP20, Line 1, #4). This award was given to a graduating member who made any contribution to the chapter and/or community at any point during the 2022-2023 academic year. This award recognizes an individual who balanced chapter management, internal and external relations, member satisfaction, and contributed to the SFL Community.

This award was given to a chapter from each council whose community service efforts have positively impacted the greater community.

Organizational Leadership Award

This award was given to a chapter from each council with the highest presence at Sorority and Fraternity Life events.​

Scholastic Achievement Award 

This award was given to the chapter from each council with the highest 2020 Cumulative Grade Point Average of all members. As an academic sorority, Eta Gamma strives to reflect its hardwork.

Outstanding Chapter President Award

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s Founding Sister #9, Jaqueline Munive, who balanced chapter management, internal and external relations, member satisfaction, and contributed to the Sorority and Fraternity Life during the 2020-2021 school year. 

​

Outstanding Chapter Leader Award

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s Founding Sister #3, Marissa Tinsley, who implemented positive change with her position, created or improved an event or initiative, and strangely upheld chapter values.

​

Scholastic Achievement Award 

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s Founding Sister #14, Jennifer Harrison. This award was given to individuals in their final year at UCSD who have excelled scholastically. This sister has gone above and beyond what is generally required of the Sorority and Fraternity Life Community.

​

Leading New Member Award 

This award was given to Eta Gamma’s sister Sharai Barrera (SP20, Line 1, #7). This award was given to an individual who joined between Winter 2020 and Fall 2020 and demonstrated leadership ability in the chapter, campus, and/or SFL Community. This sister has excelled in the areas of academics, service, involvement, and overall participation.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. National Awards

New Chapter of the Year  
Eta Gamma was given this award for our commitment to succeed and thrive during our first year as an established chapter. Our chapter had a year full of excellence in our academics, programming, campus involvement, and sisterhood. 


Philanthropic Member of the Year
This award was given to Eta Gamma’s Founding Sister #6 Alondra Gil “A” for supporting LTA’s national philanthropy, St. Jude, and the LTA Foundation. Our sister raised $1,135 for St. Jude. 


New Member of the Year

his award was given to Eta Gamma’s Founding Sister #11 who exemplified leadership and involvement both within LTA and her education.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. California Area 4 Awards

Philanthropic Chapter of the Year
This award was given to Eta Gamma for our service and philanthropic contributions to our community. Eta Gamma had over 180 hours of community service, over 15 events, and led initiatives that brought a great impact on our campus and community. 


New Sister of the Year
Founding Sister #11 Griselda was given this award for her dedication as Eta Gamma’s first Chapter President. She worked hard to set a strong foundation for Eta Gamma all while thriving in her academics.

Fundraising for COVID-19

Top Team of CAA4 Fundraising for COVID-19
In the month of April 2020, we supported Lambda Theta Alpha’s Foundation by donating to CAA4's goal of fundraising $1,000.00. Sisters worked hard virtually to share their money boards and was one of the top teams in CAA4 in raising funds for the COVID-19 Relief Campaign, with a total of $478

St. Jude Walk/Run 2019 Recognition

Top 3 Southwest Teams to raise funds for St. Jude Walk/Run 2019
The Southwest LTA region recognized Eta Gamma as the top 3 Southwest teams to financially contribute towards St. Jude Research Hospital
